Το Μεταπτυχιακό πρόγραμμα στη Διοίκηση της Υγείας έχει ως σκοπό να προετοιμάσει την επόμενη γενιά των ανώτερων στελεχών και ηγετών στον τομέα της Υγείας για μια εποικοδομητική σταδιοδρομία μιας και οι Μονάδες Υγείας είναι απαραίτητο να έχουν στρατηγικό σχεδιασμό, για να καταστούν ικανές να αντιμετωπίσουν τις επερχόμενες αλλαγές στο χώρο των δραστηριοτήτων τους. Η εξασφάλιση της βιωσιμότητας και της ανάπτυξής τους επιτυγχάνεται με τη βαθιά γνώση και τη συνδυασμένη εφαρμογή της επιστήμης του Μάνατζμεντ με τις επιστήμες της Υγείας. Ο κλάδος της Υγείας είναι στενά συνδεδεμένος με το σύγχρονο παγκοσμιοποιημένο περιβάλλον της πολυπλοκότητας και των αλλαγών. Η ραγδαία ανάπτυξη της τεχνολογίας, τα νέα φαρμακευτικά και άλλα προϊόντα, η έντονη επιρροή των ΜΜΕ και η διαπίστωση της ανάγκης για αναδιοργάνωση, ασκούν καθοριστική επίδραση στις Υπηρεσίες Υγείας και τα στελέχη τους.

Για την απόκτηση γνώσεων και νέων εμπειριών, την ανάπτυξη προσωπικών και επαγγελματικών ικανοτήτων και την διαμόρφωση ή μετατροπή συγκεκριμένων συμπεριφορών, απαιτείται η συμμετοχή των στελεχών της Υγείας (ιατρών – νοσηλευτών - στελεχών εταιρειών του χώρου της Υγείας, κ.λπ.), σε κατάλληλα προγράμματα εκπαίδευσης. Ένα τέτοιο πρόγραμμα, που συνδυάζει τη Διοίκηση με την επιστήμη και την πρακτική της Υγείας, είναι το μεταπτυχιακό στη Διοίκηση Υπηρεσιών και Μονάδων Υγείας.

Οι εκπαιδευόμενοι θα έχουν την ευκαιρία να αναπτύξουν τεχνικές δεξιότητες σε θέματα Υγείας υπό την καθοδήγηση ειδικών στο χώρο καθώς και να μοιραστούν την εμπειρία και γνώση που ήδη κατέχουν σε θέματα διοίκησης υγείας.

Η δομή του προγράμματος έχει σχεδιαστεί έτσι ώστε οι υποψήφιοι να έχουν την ευκαιρία να διευρύνουν τη γνώση τους τόσο στη θεωρία όσο και στη πράξη σε βασικά θέματα του Health Management με σκοπό την αποτελεσματική αντιμετώπιση των νέων προκλήσεων μέσα στο δυναμικό και πολύπλοκο περιβάλλον της βιομηχανίας στο χώρο της Υγείας.

Αναμένεται ότι με την επιτυχή ολοκλήρωση του προγράμματος οι απόφοιτοι θα είναι σε θέση να:

  • Κατανοήσουν τις βασικές αρχές και λειτουργίες διοίκησης των επιχειρήσεων και οργανισμών Υγείας.
  • Προσεγγίσουν , κατανοήσουν και αναγνωρίσουν το περιβάλλον των επιχειρήσεων και οργανισμών Υγείας και τη ανάδειξη των χαρακτηριστικών τους.
  • Μελετούν και χρησιμοποιούν τα σύγχρονα εργαλεία διοίκησης και διαχείρισης στον τομέα της Υγείας.
  • Αξιολογούν και να κρίνουν τις στρατηγικές χειρισμών του εκσυγχρονισμένου επιχειρηματικού περιβάλλοντος του χώρου της Υγείας.
  • Γνωρίσουν τον τρόπο λειτουργίας και της ποιότητας του συστήματος Υγείας σε ενδοκρατικό και πανευρωπαϊκό επίπεδο και το νομικό πλαίσιο στο οποίο αυτό κινείται.
  • Κατανοήσουν και να αξιολογούν τους κινδύνους που διατρέχουν οι Οργανισμοί Υγείας(Risk assessment).
  • Σχεδιάζουν , οργανώνουν και εκπονούν μία επιστημονική πτυχιακή διατριβή.

Ειδικότερα, το Μεταπτυχιακό πρόγραμμα σπουδών στη Διοίκηση Υπηρεσιών και Μονάδων Υγείας σχεδιάστηκε σύμφωνα με τα σύγχρονα ευρωπαϊκά πρότυπα και με βάση τα πορίσματα της αξιολόγησης του προγράμματος σπουδών και την ανίχνευση των ειδικότερων αναγκών του Συστήματος Υγείας στη Κύπρο , σε συνεργασία με τις Διοικήσεις επιλεγμένων Νοσοκομείων, με διακεκριμένους επιστήμονες και καθηγητές Πανεπιστημίων καθώς και με εξειδικευμένα στελέχη σε θέματα Δημοσίου Μάνατζμεντ Υγείας στοχεύοντας :

  • Στην απόκτηση ειδικών γνώσεων σε θέματα ευρωπαϊκής κοινωνικής πολιτικής Υγείας, θεσμικού πλαισίου και οργάνωσης συστημάτων υγείας, σχεδιασμού και αξιολόγησης πολιτικών υγείας, οικονομικών του τομέα υγείας, οργάνωσης-διοίκησης και χρηματοοικονομικής διαχείρισης των Δημοσίων Μονάδων Υγείας, συστημάτων διαχείρισης προμηθειών, λογιστικό σύστημα και κοστολόγηση νοσοκομείων και διοίκηση ποιότητας στις υπηρεσίες υγείας
  • Στην καλλιέργεια δεξιοτήτων μέσα από την εξάσκηση των σπουδαστών στο πλαίσιο επιμέρους εργαστηρίων ή/και μαθημάτων π.χ. στρατηγικού μάνατζμεντ, σύγχρονων εργαλείων δημοσίου μάνατζμεντ υγείας, διαχείρισης κοινοτικών προγραμμάτων, διαχείρισης βιοϊατρικής τεχνολογίας καθώς και στην απόκτηση τεχνικών δεξιοτήτων, μέσα από την εκμάθηση τεχνικών παρουσιάσεων με τη χρήση Η/Υ, την ανάπτυξη ιστοσελίδων και στη καλλιέργεια συνεργατικής συμπεριφοράς, κυρίως μέσα από την «από κοινού» επεξεργασία μελετών περίπτωσης και την ανάληψη ομαδικών σεμιναριακών εργασιών .
  • Στη διαμόρφωση στάσεων και αντιλήψεων που συνάδουν σε μία σύγχρονη διοικητική κουλτούρα στη διάπλαση του επιθυμητού προφίλ του Μάνατζερ δημόσιου και ιδιωτικού τομέα Υγείας .

  • An understanding of the purpose and necessity of tools Health Economics, with reference to modern economists of Health, and their respective schools of thought
  • The analysis of micro-economic circuit in health (demand-offeer-purchase of products and services) on the basis of the principles, objectives and functioning of health systems in the Financing and Evaluation of Health Services
  • Deepening the basic processes and principles of financial management of health units (HUs), the concepts and elements of an accounting system, budgeting, cost accounting, financial statements and ratios
  • The financial planning and the application of appropriate methods of economic management in health facilities, using appropriate techniques, appropriate to the environment of HUs.

By the end of the course, the students should be able to:

  1. Understand in depth the impact of the health sector in the formation of aggregates of the economy
  2. Identify the causes and results of the organization and financing of the health care sector in modern societies, in relation to social inequalities

HEALTH INFORMATION SYSTEMS

Course Contents

  • Provide specialized scientific knowledge to graduates with skills relevant to the needs of health care through the Health Informatics.
  • The introduction and guidance of graduate students in scientific research, so that graduates of the program can perform research programs, evaluate and apply research results and to plan and prepare research in the fields of Administration Health Services and the Health Information Technology, respectively.
  • Comprehensive and in-depth presentation of the problems of implementing IT in a diverse and complex field of activity.
  • Specialization in health informatics.

By the end of the course, the students should be able to:

  1. Enable students to address comprehensively the problem of implementation of information technology in activities directly related to the generation and exploitation of knowledge in complex multi-parameter organizational groups (hospitals, health systems).

SOCIAL AND BEHAVIOURAL ASPECTS OF HEALTH MANAGEMENT – HEALTH LAW AND ETHICAL ISSUES

  6. Understand how the study and treatment of the rules of law relating to the implementation of health policies
  7. Are able to seek and process health law rules
  8. Monitor the changing international developments on social data, scientific approaches to bioethics and related laws

DISSERTATION

Course Contents

Dissertation is an output of research. The student shows his ability and skills to work independently. Original results of research must be included in the dissertation. The dissertation is put together by the student under his/her supervisor’s guidelines. The topic of a dissertation must be approved by a relevant Ph.D. study programme professional board.

Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme. The dissertation thesis contains above all these parts: summary of the present state of problems with reference to used source – books, targets of the thesis, description of own solution, original outcomes and their use in bulletins and projects, target analysis for science and experience, recommendation for continuing to written thesis in required topic and branch, list of student’s published works and their relevant quotations, list of used literature, declaration of intellectual property and an annotation generally in Greek.

By the end of the course, the students should be able to:

  1. Develop a theoretical framework for research
  2. Identify and justify the choice of research methodology
  3. Identify an appropriate research strategy and analyze bibliography
  4. Identify and adopt appropriate research methods
  5. Demonstrate an ability to write with fluency, clarity and precision
  6. Describe the theoretical background of his/her research topic, the selection and description of the required research method to solve the research problem.
  7. Evaluate and discuss scientific research topics in his/her own field
  8. Analyze data and report findings in the format of a 15,000 word dissertation.
